MEET THE TEAM
Johnson & Co founder, Gillian, qualified in 1987 as a Chartered Accountant with EY in London, working in audit. She then spent some time training Chartered Accountants before working in the tax team for KPMG in Yorkshire, where she qualified with the Chartered Institute of Tax. Gillian now deals with tax, payroll & statutory accounts. She also has significant experience working with care homes.

Johnson & Co founder, David, qualified in 1987 and spent 7 years working for EY in Hull & London, working in audit & corporate finance before embarking on a career in industry. He worked as Financial Controller for a designer beer importer before moving on to become Finance Director of RMS in 1995. Together with a handful of fellow directors & shareholders RMS grew to become the premier stevedoring company around the Humber eventually exiting the business in 2017 when the original founders sold it to the management. David's role at Johnson & Co focuses on property businesses along with business advice & planning.
DAVID JOHNSON BA ACA
After 2 and a half years with Johnson & Co, Fiona became a partner in 2021. She completed her training at Smailes Goldie, where she spent 3 years in accounts & audit, followed by a year specialising in corporate tax, investigations & R&D claims. Whilst at Smailes Goldie Fiona won the Hull & Humber Trainee Chartered Accountant of the Year 2018. Fiona is a Quickbooks ProAdvisor, Certified Xero Advisor & works extensively on Sage 50. She focuses on VAT returns, tax matters, management & statutory accounts.
